Description

Be inspired to paint beautiful flowers in watercolour by the four respected artists featured in this comprehensive guide. Each artist has their own individual style and provides detailed instruction on the tools, materials and techniques they use.  Learn about painting wild flowers from Wendy Tait, including composition, sketching, painting backgrounds, and expert tips on how to improve your flower portraits. There's a fascinating section on achieving light in flower painting by Jackie Barrass, and an exploration of creative techniques with Richard Bolton. Finally, Ann Mortimer guides you through depicting flowers in the landscape with four stunning projects. With a total of 12 gorgeous projects to choose from, this highly practical book will provide all the instruction and inspiration you need to create amazing watercolour flower paintings in a range of styles. This book uses material previously published in the highly successful Step-by-Step Leisure Arts series and the Watercolour Tips and Techniques series.

Author Biography:

Wendy Tait gave demonstrations and taught classes to art clubs and societies. Although she no longer teaches, she remains as busy as ever, enjoying writing and illustrating books and painting in several different media.  Richard Bolton is a professional watercolour artist who enjoys travelling and painting. He has written a number of successful art books from his visits around the world. He now lives and works in New Zealand with his wife. Jackie Barrass worked in international banking for many years, before deciding to devote more time to her interest in art. Her expressive watercolours and works in other media can be seen in galleries and exhibitions around Surrey and in Hampshire where she lives. She now paints under the name of Jackie Walker. Ann Mortimer is a professional artist and watercolour tutor, and is a member of the Society of Floral Painters with whom she exhibits regularly. She has written several articles for Leisure Painter magazine. Ann lives in Nottinghamshire with her husband.
