Wendyl's: Sheet Whitening Kit
White sheets are what you are after? This is what you need…
1kg Oxygen Bleach plus 500g Blueing Powder
Mix the oxygen bleach 1 part to 2 with baking soda for a general laundry soaker or throw in 1–2 tbsp per nine litre bucket for fast and powerful bleaching power.
Soak your sheets overnight or sometimes I leave them for 48 hours then wash and throw the blueing powder in the final rinse. I use 1 tsp of blueing powder for a single sheet set, 2 tsp for double, queen or king. And sometimes if they are really grey I’ll throw in 3 tsp for good measure. Do be sure that the bowl is full before adding so that you don’t get blue splotches, and if you have a front loader dissolve the powder in a cup of water before adding. A lot of people say they have no idea when the final rinse arrives on their washing machine and so I advise to time it. Mine takes exactly 35 minutes to get to the final rinse so I set the oven timer and then I know when to throw the blueing in.
