The DeHavilland designs are so distinct in the world of aviation. The Puss Moth was designed at a time when aviation was booming and was intended to be a fast ‘Gentleman’s Ca­rriage’. West Wings version captures that character and combines it with stable performance.

Construction is traditional and based on pre-printed balsa sheets and strip. This time honoured construction provides the right combination of strength and low weight and helps to recreate the general structure of the original design.

The advantage of generous wing area, a good section, high wing mount and low weight all come together when it comes to flying. This Puss Moth really has the performance to go with the looks and makes a great first scale free flight model.

Needless to say, the kit comes complete with propeller and rubber as well as suitable tissue for the covering. All you need is glue and dope (and maybe paint) before you'll be ready for the air. For those that prefer it, we reckon the Puss Moth will easily convert to electric by the use of a suitable gearbox and motor combination.

West Wings are probably the largest manufacturer of small model kits in the UK, manufacturing all of the West Wings kits in their factory in West Cornwall. Designs draw on the extensive experience staff have gained from ‘hands-on’ modelling over many years. Combine this with full CAD drawings and their CNC cutting machines and you can appreciate how accurate the kits are. The only items in the kits that are not made in the UK are propellers from Japan and flight quality rubber specially imported from the USA. Balsa wood, being a tropical tree, does not grow in Europe; therefore it is sourced from managed and sustained forests in Ecuador and Papua New Guinea.
