Author Biography:

David Faulkner a senior research associate at the University of Oxford Centre for Criminology and was formerly a deputy secretary at the Home Office. Dr Ros Burnett is a Reader in Criminology at the University of Oxford's Centre for Criminology and was previously a probation officer.
