Description

White Shell Woman's Promise, narrated by Ernestine Yazzie, a young Woman struggling to overcome a horrific assault, takes the reader into the Navajo Nation. Ernestine's story is told in the emotional first person. Ernestine turns to the esteemed medicine man Billy Gray Eyes for answers to questions about her future. Billy offers support and protection, but ultimately the seeds of healing are in Ernestine's own hands. In a world filled with cruelty, violence, and witchcraft can Ernestine find the path toward healing? Will she find justice and will she have the strength to choose the path of Beauty? White Shell Woman's Promise is a companion book to Monster Slayer's Son. The two stories support each other but also stand alone.
