Jason's new life with Maria is a delicate balancing act between using his power judiciously to keep some semblance of control over it and not compromising Maria's obligations as a police detective or religious convictions. Despite the challenges, their fledgling relationship grows as they find their own means of navigating the unique perils their respective gifts bring to bear. Just as things appear to settle Jason's friends are subjected to a paranormal attack, something he is duty bound to respond to. New attacks start on multiple fronts from unrelated sources and inevitably disparate events become entwined.
