Ed Roberts is a poet who does not look at his poetry as an art or form of entertainment. His goal since the release of his first book is and has been to try and change the world with poetry. He received his first Pulitzer nomination for his fourth book "Whispers, Tears, Prayers, and Hope" partially because of a comment that appears on the back cover left by a man who decided to leave a PLO terrorist training camp in Jordan because someone had shared Ed's poetry with him. Ed has said "Poetry has the power to cross borders, cultures, and even time itself." In many ways he has shown it can.
