Author Biography:

R.G. Grant is a history writer who has published more than 40 books, many of them dealing with aspects of modern warfare. He has written on a range of military conflicts, including the American Civil War, World War I, World War II, and the Vietnam War. He is the author of DK's Battle, Flight, Battle at Sea, Soldier, and Commanders. Consultant Richard Overy is a professor of history at the University of Exeter. He is the author of more than 25 books on World War II and is recipient of the Samuel Eliot Morison Prize for a lifetime's contribution to military history.
