This book identifies the diverse ways in which educational policies, discourses, curricula and pedagogy embed and promote the concept of "the nation" both historically and in the age of globalization. Daniel Tröhler is Professor of Foundations of Education at the University of Vienna, Austria, and Visiting Professor at the University of Oslo, Norway. Nelli Piattoeva is Associate Professor of Education at Tampere University, Finland. William F. Pinar is Tetsuo Aoki Professor in Curriculum Studies at the University of British Columbia, Canada.
