Description

From the heart of Yellowstone to the wilderness of the Bighorn Mountains, grizzly bears, wolves, and majestic trout all wait to be discovered in WYOMING MOUNTAINS AND HOME-WATERS. Explore the wild treasures of Wyoming's rugged lands and remote streams with Bradley Johnson, author and ecologist and Wyoming native. Retracing his steps to the streams of his youthful fishing adventures, Johnson returns to the mountains with a deep understanding of conservation science to tell the story of Wyoming's incredible wildlife and landscapes. He takes you into the backcountry to chase elusive trout in high mountain streams, witness the return of wolves to Yellowstone, and survive close encounters with streamside moose. In WYOMING MOUNTAINS AND HOME-WATERS, a love of fly fishing and a savvy ecological perspective converge to accentuate the imperative for conserving fish, wildlife, and their fragile habitats. Every angler can play a part in protecting their own beloved landscapes and home-waters. Let Johnson show you how.

Author Biography:

Bradley Johnson grew up in rural Wyoming, often making trips to his family's log cabin in the Bighorn Mountains, built in 1916 by his great-great-grandfather. He learned to fly fish on the nearby trout stream and spent every possible moment on water. Johnson graduated from the University of Wyoming in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in political science. He then served with the US Army in Iraq, after which he attended graduate school, earning a master's degree in political science and a PhD in natural resource and environmental studies from the University of New Hampshire. Since 2010, Johnson has been working in the field of natural resource management in Colorado and his home state of Wyoming. He remains an avid fly fisherman and especially enjoys taking to Wyoming's rugged wilderness to pursue trout.
