Description

There is a special fascination about a mystery that is supposedly solved and then resurfaces years later. Martin Edwards exploits this fascination most intriguingly - and with a sensational outcome. - Peter Lovesey, CWA Diamond and Gold Dagger winner Another of the highly acclaimed Harry Devlin series, Yesterday's Papers is an atmospheric, well-paced thriller with a satisfying twist. The murder of pretty teenager Carole Jeffries in 1964 created a storm of interest. Who could possibly want to snuff out a life packed with such potential? A girl who had everything, including moneyed parents and a pop star boyfriend. Within days a neighbour had confessed to the crime, was found guilty and hanged for the crime. Case closed. Thirty years later, lawyer Harry Devlin is approached by an amateur criminologist who is convinced that Carole's killer is still at large. When the man is found dead in suspicious circumstances, Harry starts to investigate the case in earnest... ABOUT THE SERIES: The Arcturus Crime Classics series has lovingly brought back to life some forgotten classics of the crime genre from the last 50 years.
