Description

This story is not about climate change, but the weather really is important to the plot. This book does not deal solely with another great misadventure by Anthony Ant although he does tend to go astray a couple of times in the book. And, contrary to some rumors, Anthony does NOT get married in this charming tale, BUT he does meet someone never introduced in any previous Anthony story. Yes, the action occurs around and on Valentine's Day, but remember, ants (at least Anthony's family) sleep during the whole winter season. To discover what actually happens, the reader will be treated to rhyme and rhythm always present in the Anthony Ant series. The intriguing illustrations by Mary Coons are as compelling and fun as always. It's a great addition to the growing collection of the Anthony Ant series.

Author Biography:

Richard L. Stein loves to write for children. Throughout his years of teaching and work with school curricula, he promoted creative writing among K-12 students through major, voluntary projects. In the course of the multi-year effort, he read over 10,000 student works. Thus, Mr. Stein gained a keen sense of the pupils' subject interests and reading/writing abilities in the various grade levels. In order to maintain student interest in the outside-the-classroom activities, he shared stories of his own creation. With his teaching background in English, speech, and theater arts, he brings a sense of drama and passion to his work and school visits. Mr. Stein has keynoted student writer conventions, visited hundreds of classroom from preschool, Montessori, to post graduate seminars for teachers. He has only begun to mine his treasure house of story ideas gained from his years spent with the myriad student writers. He promises future stories for all levels of readers and a rich cache of characters to inhabit them
