Well known for his back-to-basics philosophy on cooking, Hugh has resided at River Cottage for a number of years now, cultivating his vegetable garden, raising chickens, pigs and even cattle for his table. He is an ambassador for local, seasonal produce which he cooks to perfection. Whether it be from the wild, the garden or even off the shelf, Hugh offers a variety of remarkable recipes to enthuse and salivate over.
River Cottage Autumn
Channel 4's champion of local organic food, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, returns to River Cottage to harvest the best that autumn has to offer, from sea to forest, from orchard to kitchen garden.
This series includes a wonderful array of tempting recipes to inspire and salivate over, from stuffed and roasted belly of pork to spicy lamb curries and plenty of puddings too! All the season’s bests are here, whether home grown or shop bought. Hugh also catches up with the Bristol smallholders he first met in River Cottage Spring, as they try their hand making their own faggots, sausages and goat’s cheese.
And in true Hugh style there’s plenty of River Cottage parties, from a fully foraged four-course dinner, complete with oysters, squirrel and home brew, to a fun and food filled Duck Fair and a rowdy Bonfire night.
River Cottage Spring
Inspired by spring, Hugh, the ambassador for local organic food produce and production, cooks and tastes the abundant gifts this season has to offer and celebrates the seasonal best, be it from the wild, the garden or off the shelf with a collection of recipes to enthuse and, above all, salivate over.
As ever, people from all walks of life will be dropping by to get a dose of the River Cottage treatment and taste a generous helping of the good life that Hugh has cooked up for them.
