N. BALAKRISHNAN, PhD, is Professor of Mathematics and Statistics at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. KOUTRAS, PhD, is Professor of Statistics at the University of Piraeus in Greece, where he researches applied probability, reliability, and distribution theory.
