Takom: 1/35 Pzj G13 – Model Kit
The Pzj G13 tank is a modification of the German Hetzer tank destroyer developed and produced in the Czech Republic towards the end of World War II. Czechoslovakia, which returned to an independent state after the war, sold the Hetzer tank destroyer overseas as a means of earning foreign currency. In the 1930s, Switzerland produced an LTH tank with almost the same wheel circumference and mechanical system as the Hetzer, and operated it as the Pz.39. A total of 158 G13s were produced and developed at the Skoda factory from 1946 to 1950.
The G13 is equipped with a 48-caliber 7.5cm gun “StuK40” for the III assault gun instead of the 48-caliber 7.5cm gun “PaK39” that the Hetzer was equipped with; a muzzle brake was installed and the main gun was changed. In addition, the position of the loader has been replaced. In order to compensate for the fragile side armor, a spare track is attached to both sides of the hull, and a spare wheel is attached to the right side. The Swiss Army began introducing Centurion tanks in 1955, which led to the gradual retirement of the G13.
