A collection of eleven horror stories by Richard Davis (1935-2005), famed anthologist whose books include "The Year's Best Horror Stories", the "Space", "Spectre" and "Tandem Horror" series and many others. The author was the story editor for the BBC "Late Night Horror" series. His short stories appeared in many anthologies in the UK, but this is the first time a collection of his stories has been published.The book includes an introduction by editor David A. Sutton, plus two rare articles and an interview with the author.

Author Biography:

Writer, editor and authors' agent, Director of Paladin Film Distributors. Richard Davis' short stories have appeared in various anthologies, including, GRAVES GIVE UP THEIR DEAD, NO SUCH THING AS A VAMPIRE, HORROR 7 (Corgi Books), 5th and 6th GHOST BOOKS (Barrie & Jenkins 1969 and 1970, reprinted by Pan Books) and NEW WRITINGS IN HORROR AND THE SUPERNATURAL 1 (Sphere Books 197l). He edited TANDEM HORROR 2 and. 3 (1968-69) and THE YEAR'S BEST HORROR STORIES l, 2, 3 and 4 from 1971-75. In hardback, two series of juvenile orientated anthologies, SPACE volumes I-3 and SPECTRE 1-3 (Sf and Ghost series published by Abelard Schuman in the period 1973-75. Also, a further series of SF anthologies for younger readers from Amada this year, ARMADA SF 1 and 2. Writer and Producer of the film VIOLA, released in 1968 with music by Ravi Shankar. Critic and columnist for FILMS AND FILMING (1964-71). Story Editor for BBC TV drama series OUT OF THE UNKNOWN, 13 AGAINST FATE and LATE NIGHT HORROR. Contributor to BBC Radio's PRICE OF FEAR series, which starred Vincent Price. David A. Sutton lives in Birmingham, England. He is the recipient of the World Fantasy Award, The International Horror Guild Award and twelve British Fantasy Awards for editing magazines and anthologies (FANTASY TALES, DARK VOICES: THE PAN BOOK OF HORROR and DARK TERRORS: THE GOLLANCZ BOOK OF HORROR). Other anthologies include NEW WRITINGS IN HORROR & THE SUPERNATURAL, THE SATYR'S HEAD & OTHER TALES OF TERROR, PHANTOMS OF VENICE, HAUNTS OF HORROR and DARKER TERRORS. He has also been a genre fiction writer since the 1960s with stories appearing widely in anthologies and magazines, including in BEST NEW HORROR, FINAL SHADOWS, THE MAMMOTH BOOK OF MERLIN, BENEATH THE GROUND, SHADOWS OVER INNSMOUTH, THE BLACK BOOK OF HORROR, SUBTLE EDENS, THE GHOSTS & SCHOLARS BOOK OF SHADOWS, PSYCHOMANIA, SECOND CITY SCARES and KITCHEN SINK GOTHIC. His short stories are collected in CLINICALLY DEAD & OTHER TALES OF THE SUPERNATURAL and DEAD WATER AND OTHER WEIRD TALES.
