Most of this material is culled from my other books, so this is for someone who has a preponderant reading interest in all matters France. It is not a comprehensive history of France. This edition is 102,000 words long and is 90% about France from 1914 to 1945. The author loves France but De Gaulle is not France, even though he thought he was. There is a lot in here about the shameful Vichy episode. It's hard to believe that even happened.
