Description

This is a short 60-page, 11,000 word history of the United States in the time of President Martin Van Buren, of New York. Van Buren is not rated one of America's best presidents, but this book is not very rough on him. It's short and basic and is intended for edutainment purposes only. Andrew Jackson's Vice President waltzed into the White House in 1836, beating Whig William H. Harrison; but Harrison won the re-match in 40. Van Buren was on the losing end of the Panic of 1837 and the economic depression which followed, even though it was largely the fault of the policies of his patron, Andrew Jackson. - This book includes stores about the Caroline, Elijah Lovejoy, Angelina Grimke, and the Lumberjack War. - Mike Donovan is a stand-up comedian (and slips in a little joke now and then in all of his history books.) One nickel out of every 100,000 sales will go to the Foundation to Raise Awareness.
