In March 1944, eleven young men lost their lives in a plane crash on Patrick County Virginia's Bull Mountain on a training mission. Educator Clarence Hall spent many years researching the crash. He and others put up two memorials to the men who lost their lives on the mountain and at the county courthouse in Stuart, Virginia. Historian Thomas D.
