I'm ashamed to say I didn't buy this through Mighty Ape because I saw it while out and had to have it right now – but you should. For context on my review, I'm a 40yo confirmed Potterhead, who works as a software test analyst (but I'm not a coder) and was previously a technical writer. Everything about the Harry Potter Kano coding wand shows wonderful attention to detail. Once you get past the outer sleeve, the packaging sets a feeling of magic and mystery, the manual is well written and illustrated, the app is beautiful in a way that will satisfy any Potterhead, and you can create a fairly customisable avatar that doesn’t send you down a gendered path. Oh, and there’s stickers! The tuition is scratchpad style, there’s plenty of lead-by-the-nose lessons, but also do-it-by-yourself challenges, some of which I frankly wish provided hints. I’m having great fun with it and would recommend it to any Potter fan, young or young-at-heart. I’m sure Arthur Weasley would think it was just wonderful.
