"Great kids film"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

Kiki is a young witch in training, she leaves home to find her own town to settle in for a year. This story is about growing up, adjusting, adapting and finding confidence in yourself.

Adult Miyazaki fans, this film is more “disney” than “anime”. This film is nice, evenly paced, and perfect for young girls between ages 5 and 10. It is quite beautiful, and there is a love story, so if you like Miyazaki films then you need to watch this simply so you can enjoy another world where dreams seem to slip into reality. 5 Stars because its completely in touch with its target audience.

Kiki is a really delightful little apprentice witch.

Sweet love story and wonderful art work.

Her little cat is so cute. also a cute little romance with her cat and the fancy persian cat next door and cute kittens resulting. I will watch it again and again and share it with children.

Description

Kiki's Delivery Service

Kiki's Delivery Service (Majo no Takkyubin) is a 1989 Japanese animated family fantasy film written, produced and directed by Hayao Miyazaki.

It is tradition for all young witches to leave their families on the night of a full moon to learn their craft. That night comes for Kiki, who follows her dream and embarks on the experience of a lifetime. With her chatty black cat, Jiji, She flies off to find the perfect spot in a faraway city. There, a bakery owner befriends Kiki and helps her start her own business: A high-flying delivery service.

Follow Kiki and her journeys on world of fun-filled escapades and new friendships, including one with Tombo, a boy who dreams one day of flying. Rarely has the animator's art been so brilliantly rendered as in this delightfully imaginative film that will entertain boys and girls everywhere.

Critic Reviews:

  • " Even by Hayao Miyazaki's elevated standard, Kiki's Delivery Service is a singularly charming film. " – Charles Solomon
  • " Miyazaki's giddy, glorious seaside story about a budding young witch and her sarcastic cat. " – Tom Huddleston
  • " Kiki has given girls another way to express themselves and a whole new set of aspirations. She's achieved the artistic dream, not only finding a way to fly higher but encouraging others to do so as well. " – Andrea Thompson
